Changes in Marc Data

Following changes should be made after taking backup in Marc formate by using MarcEdit software

Delete Fields

952$u

952$k

1. Remove Formating color etc from location (LOC) .i.e. 952$c tag
2. Remove other Garbage

Add Fields

952$yBk   for adding datatype (Book)

Move Fields

942$k --> 952$o  

942$c --> 952$y

Copy Fields

260$c --> 008|7|. ?u|

Tip: It is better to do above stated process, you should copy 260$c into another field like 800$c and refine this field. Remove extra characters (., -،ه ۔) then copy.

Replace Fields

952$d --> 952$a

952$v --> 952$d

952$k --> 952$o

Authorized Values for Shelving Location

• NA-- New Arrival
• PS --Periodical Section
• RC--Rare Collection
• FS-Female Staff Rome
• SR--Library Server Room
• PL-- Principal Librarian Office
• SL--Senior Librarian Office
• BS--Binding Section
• DB--Duplicate Section

Add Material Type as part of  Title

[Thesis]-- For  Thesis

[Journal]-- For Journals

[Manuscript]-- For Manuscripts
